A New Jersey Investment Club!
We are a local Investment Club based virtually in New Jersey with six members and $15,000 in equity. We have been operating out of Bergen County since 2017 and are open to new members. The goal of our club is to educate members on matters of personal finance and general financial literacy while maximizing returns which we do through a buy and hold investment strategy; so far we have profits in excess of $2,000. We meet 12 times a year, on the third Saturday of each month.
Real Estate is a major interest of our Investment Club as well. As we operate in the TriState area we generally look for properties in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. As of right now, we are saving and looking for properties (generally multi-family, apartment buildings, and AirBNB opportunities) to buy. Our savings goal is 20% of a $500,000 property and we are quickly making progress towards it. CFCIC Leadership:
We are invested mostly in technology stocks though our portfolio is diversified. Besides tech and e-commerce stocks like Apple, Alibaba, Microsoft and Zoom, we have invested in financial services companies (Citigroup, Paychex), healthcare (Abbott Labs, Helen of Troy), as well as construction and aircraft (D.R. CFCIC has concerned itself with real estate since 2020 and after research and gaining a better understanding of best practices in real estate investment, we have begun to save and scout properties. The types of properties we are looking to purchase were listed in the above ‘About’ Section and are again listed here. This section also shows our progress.
The prices for the types of properties we plan to buy generally are around $500,000 with an average down payment of about 20%. This comes out to $100,00 down which is our savings goal.

If you are interested in joining or have personal finance questions, you can contact the Investment Club through the Vice President. His email is below this body of text. Those interested in joining should be aware that there is a monthly minimum contribution of $30 (which most members contribute more than) and the entrance fee is $100. The entrance fee does not go to the Club; it solely cements your stake. You do not need to be a member to join our monthly meetings.
